  • Landlord Incentives to Foster Tenancy is an initiative launch in 2024 by the Milwaukee County Department of Health & Human Services Housing Division. LIFT provides financial incentives and support to property owners and managers that accept rental assistance and reduce screening criteria.

  • LIFT applicants typically use one of the three types of Tenant Based Rent Assistance; MyHome, Section 8, or Rapid ReHousing.

  • No. Properties choose their own rental criteria, though all the individuals housed through LIFT will likely have inconsistent rental history and limited income.

  • Fill out a Unit Intake Form. This information will be added to a closed online database accessed by Milwaukee County Housing Services staff assisting households searching for vacant units. From there, you’ll receive monthly updates to add vacant units.
